New Employee Assistance Program intake process
Please be advised that effective May 28th 2020, there will be a change in how calls to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 1-800-268-7708 will be managed. Individuals will be greeted with a voicemail providing options to direct their call. The reason for this change is to enhance a caller's experience with the EAP intake process, and to ensure that callers requiring immediate assistance are handled in priority.
In the past year, the call volume to the EAP 1-800# has at times surged unpredictably. When this occurred, some individuals were temporarily placed in a call waiting queue which created a concern for those seeking immediate assistance. Recognizing that most people are accustomed to navigating menu options when they call various types of services, Health Canada's EAP is confident that callers will find this new approach easy to follow, and an efficient way to access the EAP assistance they require.
